The Punjab Bar Council is a deliberative assembly of lawyers in Punjab. It waWelcom to Gujrat Tax Bar Association. The Gujrat Tax Bar Association is functioning since Jan 1991, Re-organized in 1995 and registered as association in 2004.The Gujrat Tax Bar Association is also affiliated with Pakistan Tax Bar Association. With a humble start of just few members, now it has become a complete bar. Since its inception, bar attracted a large number of practicing lawyers and tax practioners. The Gujrat Tax Bar is headed and supervised by an elected president who is assisted by office bearers. The first president of the tax bar was Ch. Muhammad Aslam Sahi and General Secretary was Ishfaq Ahmad Razi. The Gujrat Tax Bar Association is responsible for making its affairs, admission of new bar members, calling / holding meetings and taking decision after approval. The Members of the bar include advocates and income tax practioners who are entitled to appear before the income tax, sales tax officials as well as appellate forums The tax bar makes representation mainly in respect of issues relating to income tax to various authorities. Our bar always acted for judicial independence of income tax laws. One of the unique features of bar is friendly feelings unity and cooperation amongst the members. This bar has distinction to have members not only from Gujrat district but also from Jehlum and Lahore. In law making process, contribution of Guirat Tax Bar Association has also been significant and its members have been making suggestions and proposals on different aspects of proposed law to be acted by the parliament. Gujrat Tax Bar is a forum to facilitate its members and source to maintain a healthy relationship between the bench and the bar.s established by the Parliament of Pakistan under the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act 1973 (Act XXXV of 1973) and began functioning on the 1st of January 1974. The Punjab Bar Council is the largest Provincial Bar Council in Pakistan, with more than 100,000 Licensed advocates and 127 Bar Associations working under its jurisdiction.
